After what I saw last night I will not be back for midget week.
Hope the track is in better shape next week but it'll be in better shape without me. Gonna save some green for Eldora.
Sadly it seems to me that most don't realize the reason for this race, last I knew it wasn't for track prep but for a young man that lost his life doing what he loved, racing. Darlene and Jerry have endured more as parents than any of us as parents ever can imagine.
We all know it wasn't a good track, $h!t happens. People arent perfect. Wish people would just be happy with what they got. Sickens me to see how some fans react anymore... Just be happy we even get to race at all..
For those that didn't stay to see the other classes run you would of seen some great racing. The Modified feature was fantastic with constant 2 and 3 wide battles for the lead besides all through the field. Even the S.Stocks had some good battles most of the event. And it certainly was fun watching Luke Bland running down and having an amazing close-contact battle with race winner Tony Anderson who certainly fought hard to keep Bland behind him for at least 10 laps. So I'm not convinced it was a "bad track"...except maybe for the 410-NW guys. JMO
Still, let's be happy we get to gather and enjoy a night of racing with our friends and/or family. It's what the racing community does after all. Let's not forget what this weekend is for. As well as what this race meant and stood for.
My first trip to Bloomington,my son & I had a blast! I love how the track is setup with the seating, track employees were super nice & loved being able to bring a cooler in which is rare for dirt tracks.Yeah,it slicked off a bit but that's part of it.Met a lot of really nice fans that made me feel at home & never seen Josh race but was thrilled to honor his memory. I WILL be back one day soon!
