Word spreading through Florida is Indiana's Tony Stewart is purchasing the old Sunshine Speedway in the Tampa/St. Pete area. Anyone in Indiana heard rumblings to that effect?
Hope it is true because we winter in Florida and would love to see more sprint car racing in that area. :applaud:

that track was bought by the state for a road exstension,then the money for the road got put on the back burner. the state repaved the track then put up a toll booth on it,they run cars around thier testing thier sun pass system(automatic toll road pay system ) the drag strip is still being used till they think of something stupid to do with it!

I wouldn't see him having much interest in that one time racetrack but East Bay Raceway has been rumored before to him. DeSoto Speedway to the south of Tampa in Bradenton is another unstable track that may be considered.
