OT but interesting

for some on here maybe. I had a Great Aunt that taught school for some time. she lived in Medaryville, In. just up the road from Francesville's Art Wendt ( snuck that in !!! ). A couple of pics says New Hope school on them with the years being early 60's & they are class pictures. If I can find them again I'll take pics & post them on here. There are some individual pics I'm sure were her "kids" but nothing is wrote on the backs of them.

As some of you may remember my dad passed away about 3 yrs ago & my step mom gave me this little box full of pics & a scrapbook right around Christmas, just a treasure trove for me. The thing is when they moved a few years ago some things were never unpacked & she is finding things when she can. She's not getting any younger & it's damn near taboo to ask if you can help go through things.

My dad his 2 sisters & younger brother went & lived with Harold & Willa in Medaryville when there mom passed away. Their father could not care for them & work. Dad was about 11 at the time & as a matter of fact there are birthday cards sent to him from family postmarked July 27th 1944, his birthday was July 29th. There are other things in there from school that he wrote dated 1945. BTW Grandma & Willa were sisters & that's why they went over there.

Another tid bit for anyone on here that maybe was from around there back in the day is Harold was the postmaster in Medaryville & he also fixed TV's & radios on the side. Don't remember the year but Uncle Harold passed around the early to mid 70's.
