According to the Dirt Classic Website The New Dirt Classic Indiana will be the only Wing sprint car race at Kokomo in 2016. Hate to hear it always loved when the WoO came to town every year.
Wonder if the promoters will pick up on the "crossover" idea and add $$ incentive for shedding the wings if the schedule allows ie: Shane Stewart @ the Burg.
Although it was an unpopular idea amongst some, I think the $ could spark some interest.
You know, even though the WoO will more than likely not be coming to Kokomo in 2016, this new Dirt Classic is a pretty good trade-off. We'll get two nights of heavy hitters vice the mid-week one night WoO show.
On the down side, the WoO drivers will more than likely be elsewhere that night.
I wish they had BOTH shows at Kokomo next year, but I am looking at this new two night show thinking, "Hmmmmmm..... I'll take this in a trade."
i have always thought the WOO shows at Kokomo were some of the best wing shows that I have seen. it is quite the sight to see them bounce the RR off the turn 1 wall.
They are running Tri-State, LPS, The Burg and Plymouth. They haven't ran LPS in many years so that will be interesting. All-Stars at Kokomo for 2 nights will be interesting as well. Probably see the King at some point in Indiana unless he's retiring for good. Next seasons racing is really shaping up to be a big one.
