We had the pleasure of parking next to JT and his crew this weekend at Mountpelior, I don't care what you think this kid ran hard and clean all night long and gained a respect from all of us at Spencer Racing. Josh and I both said he was one of the best that night and had just as good of a chance to win as anybody. We need to keep in mind he is strapping in every night that he can and running more laps than the people that bash him in the stands ever will. Great job young man from all of us at Spencer Racing
As many of you know our season has been one to forget, a new baby and me getting sick has paid a toll on all of us, Josh has a lot on his mind but keeps trying to do well even when things are not going well he has time for the fans and friends. One of those friends made it a point to come and meet Leland Saturday night, Jack Hewitt took time out to stop and play with the little guy and visit just like time had stood still. I have been told when you are good friends you take up where you left off this is so true. Josh and Cody were like brothers when they where little and would pall around at all the race tracks all over the country, Jack, Jodi and Cody was the highlight of the night a lot of summers ago. As time moves on we did not see a part of our family very much but often thought about them so when Jack brought his smile to our trailer Saturday night our hearts were full again. Thank you for being a good friend. Fans and friends have helped get us through this horrible season so when I said I am not sure how much longer we could do this another very good friend and aone of the best race drivers around said " I have felt that way before then the next season won more races than I ever had" He said hang in as Josh is as good as most and next season with a clear head he will be right back to having fun and being fast again. This little pep talk helped Sarah and I too have hope when hope looked so far away. Well enough rambling for now and as Steve would say " The Compressor is full and ready to use" ![]() Thanks to all the race tracks, fans and friends that have stood right next to the 66j in good times and bad. See you all at Gas City on OCT 2nd, stop and say hi as sometimes thats all a racer needs to pick things up again. Jerry#66j stida.com / Halfmoon Resturant & Brewery / Colescotts Mobil - 1 |

Jerry, It was a pleasure to park beside you guys too! I appreciate the compliments too! I have worked real hard to get this car hooked up and we are finally making some progress Winning Heat Races and running up front in competitive A-Mains! Ready to get back in victory lane in the near future, God willing! It was great to give my childhood hero, Jack Hewitt a hug and exchange some good conversation too! It really is a pleasure to race with guys like Josh Spencer, Jon Stanbrough, Shane Cattle, Kody Swanson, Shawn Westerfeld, and the list goes on! We raced hard all night on an elbows up bullring and never touched!
Thanks again, Jerry and all those who came up to chat at Montpelier! I appreciate all my great Sponsors and Fans! |

We have known JT and his folks for a long time. In fact I think I arranged for his first test drive in a real race car many many years ago. JT would be classified as an Owner Operator and perhaps even a part of a family race team. He has always been a competitor overcoming many obstacles that would sideline the average racer. He is a perfect example of a hard racing clean driving journeyman racer. I think the reason could be found in his up bringing. Plain and simple if he did something stupid or dis respectful on the race track Dad would probably jerk a knot in his tail. This is something many family teams should think about. If kids don't have someone teaching them right from wrong when they are young and coming up how can they be expected to do the right thing as adults.

Thanks Mr. Bill Jones! I can't remember exactly how that came about the night I first watched a Mini-Sprint at Salem, but I appreciate you helping me get in Mark Humphrey's car for some Hot Laps at the end of the night! I was hooked after that! We bought Gary and Chuck Tarr's car and the rest is history. Won a lot of races with that good ole ERC Chassis with a Honda F2!

JT, I remember watching you in TQs when I was growing up. You should get a ride for the Greensburg TQ races coming up, your hometown!

I am planning on running Sunday at the Dwenger Memorial at Greensburg as of right now, but I will be there regardless! I will be racing the Sprint Car at North Vernon on Saturday night. I look forward to racing with you, Nick!
I appreciate it! |
