I have a 2002 gsxr1000 we bought this fall in mini sprint. The engine ran fine when we pulled it out with the wiring harness that is in it. The harness is cut down and a lot of stuff eliminated we put the motor back in after doing some work and plugged every thing back in but had the orange with yellow tracer wire still loose with no connector on it. Have turned the car over with this wire unhooked but do not get any spark. Any help would be great. Thanks Tim

My bad it goes to your ignition switch, it is the one that you turn on the ECM to light things up ![]() Honest Dad himself ![]() ![]() |

It is too bad that when most people cut down a harness that they leave a very important circuit out, that is the one that controls the fuel pump relay. If you switch on the ignition switch the fuel pump should come on>> run for a few seconds then turn off all by itself. If it doesn't you are probably racing an uncontrolled flame thrower in the event of a mishap.

So you think just put it on the power side of the toggle switch when it is on

I would go to Speedway and get an oil pressure fuel pump control switch at least (about $30.00). A pretty good patch for a deficient cut down job. You will have to watch it because when the motor gets hot and oil press drops the fuel pump will cut off at idle speeds I guess one reason some of them guys come through the pits reving their motors. Some people also use a by pass switch to by pass the pressure switch, but it should be a momentary switch so dumbness does not over ride safety.
