Sounds like the Crown cars replacing the midgets on the "Night Before the 500"

So. are there any dirt-to-asphalt Silver crown cars still in existence? Does having this race a couple of days after the race at the Indy Fair grounds hurt the car count in either race? Or has everyone have a car specifically for dirt and one for asphalt?

Seems like a logistics nightmare for guys running pavement silver crown and little 500? L 500 hot laps at 6 or so. Irp would need to wrap up pretty early to allow teams to pack up and get to anderson.

Day show. Am I correct reading into that they don't want to go up against the Little 5? That seems like a good move to me. The drivers don't have to choose. I'd think it would do nothing but help the car count. I like the idea of being able to go to both shows- just adds to the 500 weekend.

I think they were talking more about freeing up the junior class cars that are tied in with the Indy cars, than the Silver Crown cars.
The article stated: "These will shift to an afternoon pair of races to avoid scheduling conflicts with other activities taking place that day." So, there would be a pair of races, the Freedom 90 and the Freedom 75, besides the Silver Crown. It wasn't specific about the other activities.
