As for you, Mills: I'm going to respond to each of the things I've captured in the quote box, in order. Why would I, or anyone, feel threatened by someone using logic and reason? Yet again, the words you choose make you appear haughty and elitist ... Who's running away from facts and opinions? I don't doubt at all that it was the right move to run the sprinters ahead of the mods. That's how it should be. It's your choice of words (yet again) I am taking issue with ... I too am secure in my beliefs. And I believe I don't like your attitude ... I'm not sure I have the patience to meet you and not want to choke you to death. You're right, I could be all wrong, but all we have to form an opinion with on this board are words, and your words don't send a very promising message for you as a human being.

Bottom line is, people are put off by you. If you are the nice person you claim to be, then just be that way on here. I don't care if you think you're the second coming of Hemingway and that the written word is your vehicle to get your points across; just be nice. Sorry, but you couldn't be more wrong. That decision benefited most fans also. As has been said, the grandstand was not full to see mods. Sorry, but that's a fact. It's a USAC race with mods as the undercard....not the other way around. If sprint cars are ready to go (which they were b/c I was in pits and drivers were strapped in and ready...at least when I made my way there), then push them off. Sorry if the schedule has to be moved, but that's what people are there to see. The undercard fills time, not waste and take away from what people are there to see. Sorry if that's harsh, but that's the way I see it. I hope it continues. I was sitting there thinking...great another B main while the sprint cars are ready to go. I was surprised and very happy about the change.

It's just like when USAC runs with IndyCar on pavement. USAC is going to get bumped (loss of laps) if the schedule was behind or needed changed for whatever reason because IndyCar is the headliner. That's the way racing cards work...and should work IMO. I was happy with how everything was run. Give the fans what they want.

I am totally bummed about not getting to go back to Gas City tonight, and instead of sitting here and wasting my time bickering with some faceless guy on the Internet, I am getting my (backside) out of the house and going to North Vernon. It's the only track still left standing in the state, and I want to see some sprint car action tonight. So, feel free to pick me and my opinions apart all ya like, but I am going off to have a good time. If it gets rained out, so be it. At least I gave it my all. But, then you will probably find Sean Buckley and I down at "I'm Stuffed" pizza parlor just North of where the 7 and the 50 highways collide. Come in and have some Bosco Stix and Old Chicago Style deep dish pizza. You will surely love it...

DM - Living The Dream

The show was for the usac sprint cars not modifieds at all and I am glad to see where they put them to the back of the program.If it took that long for the first b-main what about the second one.I will comment on this tri-state speedway took care of this problem a couple years ago 8 laps 8 minute heats and 12 laps or 12 minutes for the consi and the feature who cares the sprints are run first and then I am gone.The best thing about this rule is has only been used twice since they put it into effect stopped the idiots from ruining the show and now they strap in and race.Would like to see the dirt modifieds in this area because they know how to race not spin out all night like the ump modifieds and has for them needing to qualify these cars no way do I want to pay to watch that happen.

I think last nights show was USAC doing what it said it was going to do. Have the show over by 10:30PM.

If the mods had not been a crash fest and the USAC feature had not had more yellows that the rest of the program, they could have been done by 9:30PM.

My question is, the promoters claim that a support series is to keep the fans entertained so there will be no down time. If this is true, why was some kind of entertainment not offered during the 45 minute delay while than reran in the track? If they wanted to keep the fans entertained they should have had a band, stand up comic or a girly show.

I think the only reason they worked on the track is because everything went so smoothe in hot laps and qualifing. All that was done by 7:15 and the show should have started then.I did not think there was anything wrong with the track unless they figured the Mods would wear it out and they were preserving the track.
