Dean,
Your comment was funny to me. I guess others tend to worry about everything said and take everything to heart. Mr. Nunn is always up for an arguement about the Mud Cabs anyways... I hit rain right as I got to Kokomo, so I am glad Jiggs bumped it up. Back to the Race: I had a blast with great racing. A little to huggy ple for me, but it was still an exciting race!! Congrats to Cottle and his new team! Scotty Weir did a heck of a job also with eh Edison Crew. I didnt see Darland moving up, I thought he was getting lapped, but then someone next to me told me he made the charge, just as he always does at Gas City! Last thing: Was Sweet and Cottle stalling their motors or something in 3 and 4? They looked to come to a complete stop then take off several times in 3 and 4. |

It was not up for argument.
And technically Modifieds are "Open Wheel" But thats totally besides the point. Dont bring me into this Mr. Solomon I was not at Gas City, I just found Deans use of words a bit out of line when it came to other race car drivers. Just like Craig might have been out of line blaming USAC I am now out of this discussion |

kil-kare every year has "Open Wheel Friday" with fidgets, winged sprints and mods.

It always amazes me when people try to attribute a person's own opinion to the company they are "affiliated" with. These tragically misled types are the very people they have to write idiotic disclaimers for, such as, "the opinions of (so and so) do not necessarily reflect those of (fill in the blank)." It should be clear to anyone with a three digit IQ that I was not representing anyone but myself when I offered my opinion in this thread. I was just speaking as a racefan who is annoyed with some guy who is making ridiculous accusations about things he clearly knowns nothing about to a fraternity of people who migrate to this message board for information about their favorite form of motorsports, open wheel racing. Evidently this guy simply doesn't have the capacity to understand who this forum caters to. His opinion was foolish, and ill-conceived at best, not only with regard to the subject matter and details of his opinion, but also to whom he decided to complain to. I pointed that out. Sorry... Furthermore, my dad raced stock cars back in the 80's before he died, and while I left my fendered days behind long ago for a better form of racing, it should be understood that modifieds are not stock cars, nor are they open wheel cars. They are some mutated, almost transgendered amalgamation of a racecar, that doesn't really fit into any category (hence the name "modified"), which is why I made the quip about it being a "mutant". It was said in jest, but again, some of the audience here is of limited intelligence so I can expect much of what I say to fly over their heads. That's no surprise to me. Sorry if I offend some with logic and reason. That is not my intent. I simply try to counterbalance some of the foolish ramblings that invariably appear in this forum, which for some reason, isn't all that popular to do. Go figure...Apparently, some people would rather be blissfully unaware than to actually have insight to the very thing they are failing to understand. DM |

And DM, this guy has been going to races for most of his life, watching his uncle race late models (almost 20 years and a track champion) and his great-uncle racing sprints. So the remarks about following his brother (who has 3 championships) and not a short track follower is untrue. And he doesn't just "follow" his brother, they are a TEAM. |
