All and all it was excellent for the first night, I would like to have seen more camera angles though.

Great racing tonight. A very competitive although tedious feature with 8 cautions and a red for a Thomas Messeraull flip in turn 2. He was ok. 47 cars on hand for the opening USAC National sprint car feature of the year. Brady Bacon was fastest in quals. Heats were won by Scotty Weir, Jon Stanbrough, Darren Hagen, and Jerry Coons Jr. Shane Cottle won the B. Blake Fitzpatrick won the non qualifiers event. Brad Sweet, starting 3rd in the main, looked to have the measure of Cottle early as he led the first 17 laps but, at that point, Cottle took control. Levi Jones made a few sweeping pass attempts up high and looked as though he might have something for the leaders but fell to 4th at the end. Dustin Morgan went backwards to 4th from a pole start but battled back for 2nd. Top eight was Cottle, Morgan, Sweet, L. Jones, Darland (from 23rd!), Weir, Ballou, and Stanbrough. Super crowd on hand as the weather was perfect, unlike last week's cold and wind. Great to finally meet Midgy.:thumb Good to see Mudpacker, Checkered Past, Jerry Shaw, Tim Watson, Spridge, Shortbus, and John Hoover (racefan20). Bryan Clauson a surprise visitor as well. Feature checkered at 10:25. Now for my anti rain dance for tomorrow.:kookoo:O:

Hey Dwight was good to see you tonight! Sorry i couldn't stay and chat.... I had to get pitside to try and get pics tonight. NO DICE.... Qualifying just started when I cleared the pit gate. That's the breaks when you don't leave Columbus till 4:20pm. Ah well.... I think we will get some shots tomorrow from the racetrack. If people see my name tagged on to posts from the track using Kyle's name it's because I haven't taken the time to sign into IOW under mine.

I am my own worse critic.... and there were things that I was not happy with concerning our coverage tonight. Trying to score heats is a tedious task..... scorers should get the respect they deserve. It's TOUGH. We did well for the first heat.... after that it was a mess. Devin and Kyle were doing their best.... but we did come up short. Plus one beef I have with the PA announcing is they only cover the people who transferred out of the last chance/heats/semi. A complete rundown for the races run I think would be a good thing. If they did do that then I apologize now.... pitside all I could hear was transfer people. Give us time it will get better. The folks at USAC were watching us update with some interest.... might have to do with them live updating from the track too, I dunno.

I would like to thank some folks. Lisa (Midgy) was a Godsend tonight... helping me with times/lineups and heat race finishes. Second, Kenny Biro and their team for allowing us to plug in our dying laptop for some much needed recharging. It still wasn't enough to give a total race update.... but maybe we can figure out how to make the battery live longer. Thanks to the Biro's for the space to charge the battery!

If anyone else has good constructive criticizm of coverage for the night please post here or in a new thread for Saturday's racing. I am looking to do things better. Qualifying may be a chore.... we will work on that too.

I was at Gas City last night, but it sounds like this new website had a great debut last night! Thanks for the live coverage. What other events are you going to be at this season?

Thanks!

Our schedule is kind of up in the air tonight. It's borderline on going to Haubstadt (Kyle has 2 drivers from a very well known team lined up already) or back to Gas City. Please don't get the whole wing/no wing argument going here. We are an open wheel interview site and the wing guys are in that group. We will be in Winchester Sunday. Today is the big question mark with weather and some things going on on the personal side.... so we shall see.

I can tell you one thing.... if Haubstadt is our destination, this will be a LONG 36 hours. Kyle lives in Bedford.... I would drive there to meet him then head on down. It's like 1 hour 45 min to Haubstadt from there. i hour 45 min back to Bedford... then drive to Columbus to drop off my minivan, then to Wnchester. There's about 4 hours of road time to pull that off. That leaves about 2 or 3 hours of sleep sunday morning and ALL that driving. Plus with gas at least $3.40 a gallon and driving a full size pickup.... well do the math on that one! We have the 3 sponsors and another one that should be coming online next week.... but that sponsorship money gets ate up quick by gas. Plus the cell modem for 60 a month. It's a good thing we love the website.... the expense is getting sizable for a couple of poor boys with this dream of having an awesome website!

We will make a separate post tonight once the decision is finalized. We would like to give a huge THANK YOU to those who checked out Live @ the Track last night. Out normal hit count averages roughly 400 per night.... last night we got 3404 and 2600 of it was Live @ the Track! Was a good night!!!! Lets hope Mother Nature isn't a sour old bitty and allows us to get more racing in tonight!!

Your updates were excellent and sure helped ease the pain of being stuck at home on a beautiful night for racing. Your interviews are great and now your live updates just add to your site. Your site will be picking up a lot more traffic as people discover it.

Thanks for your efforts!:applaud::applaud::applaud:
