IVe been told this is for sure happening. There not sure on the amount of days yet I think its going to depend on pre entries for the 600's. Id look for more info around Tulsa. There is a flyer for it floating around on facebook but its suppose to be updated soon. Ill try to keep everyone up to date if I hear anything else

This post started off about the Tulsa Shoot out right.

Seems like nobody east of the Mississippi is interested in racing there unless we come up with a ringer or two.

While going over the entry list to ck out the competition I noticed several things.

As of today they have 18 min-sprints and 9 ecotecs pre entered.

I wonder if somebody came up with a little extra cash would Mr Hahn be interested in running each class by themselves, and then running a combined class to see just how well they would race against one another.

These are two very neat classes that I for one think could be combined to make for better racing for both.

They could call it the "Shootout Eco-Mini Showdown"

its still to early to gauge how many we will have hell I haven't even sent in my entry yet and I know of about 5 still missing from there. personally id rather not race with the eco tech at the shootout any where else sure

OK let both classes run their show. Then take the top 12 out of each classe's main events and run an inverted start "Show Down" with both classes. One big gripe is not enough track time, with numbers that both classes show up with it is a wonder they race them at all, all the time knowing that the ecotecs have a kinda of inside deal. If they race well the combining of the classes might be a little closer, If not "Oh Well" back to the drawing board. I know the Focus guys didn't want to race with us already, not sure about their new class.

You ask the question like you think the mechanical injection is an advantage to engine performance over electronic injection. You can sure put more fuel in an engine with one, the secret is to get both more fuel and air into the cylinder at the same time isn't it and in the right ratio?

You should say something like boy I enjoy trying to pick the right pill for to match the atmospheric conditions. I love the added challenge of mechanical injection, it makes me feel like a real "Old School" racer.

Unless you can increase the Volumetric Efficiency of any engine you can not make more power. To do this you would need to change cam design, install larger valves or supercharge or increse port or throttle body cross section area. Considering good fuel atomization in both types of injection a racer can not get any more power from an engine by the way fuel is introduo the air. This is the reason fuel injection of any type has it all over carburetors, they just atomize the fuel so much better. With there many very small holes and very high pressure Electronic injectors generally atomize fuel much better than the mechanical injectors that only have one big hole and rather low fuel pressure. Most of the fuel that does not burn because it was not atomized properly usually ends up in the crankcase oil. When you jet a mechanical injector for the most power you must jet it rich to allow for all the poorly atomized fuel that does not burn in the combustion process. If you don't jet rich you get a meltdown and you know what one of them looks like.

One thing encouraging.............seems most of the people that attended the "national" rules meeting have been pretty tight lipped as we all agreed until a few small details get hammered out. This is obvious by some of the "of the wall" remarks made here.

Dad......all I can say, I was totally impressed with the cooperation and compromise shown at that meeting with the representatives from the various groups. No hissy fits, tantrums or finger pointing. Very positive feelings I think by all as we left that meeting. But we all know that was the easy part. Now.......taking it back to our respective groups and get their input and acceptance is another matter. Will there be some adjustments before it is settled.....no doubt there will be. That is what is happening now. Bottom line........it was a very productive and informative meeting. But it could all crumble to a steaming heap in New York second. But that's life and you know what...........it still boils down to a hand full of people donated their personal time, money and energy to try to help grow this sport in the best interest of the majority. BTW.....No one came into that room with an agenda to sell any particular idea. Time will now tell if it was worth it............

The Ecotec vs Lighting Sprint matchup?.........We ran them in a series here in Missouri for a couple of years and on quarter mile and smaller dirt tracks.........very comparable. They can do a better job of "rooting" around due to their additional weight but that's racing. But you're right Dad..........indoor racing requires multiple sets of battle bars and preferably bead lock rims on all four corners.

What makes you think that the rules meeting was a success?? Have you had any feedback from organizations yet?? I just don't see how you can have a national rules meeting and not a national organization and without everyone in the nation aware? And don't say they all knew because a main ambassador of the sport knew nothing about it! I'm all for rules but make rules that make sense?? You want stock motors but no BMW?? Not proven to be any better other than a great magazine stating it is supposively so much more power but yet that same magazine is probably trying to sell you a BMW bike! Which pertains nothing to our sport . Also your rules state no dry sump system which is totally stupid seems how your trying to make stock motor rules and saving money but yet your going to not allow someone to make an $1800 motor last by using a dry sump which would allow the motor to live and not have them blow 3 up a year and watch them spend twice the money they should be ! Ya that makes a lot of sense!!! Not stating all the rules I heard were bogus but make rules that make sense and that can be enforced!!!! Just remember a New York second will always be a fast one! And you can't make enough rules to make everyone happy, but you can make enough rules to turn people away!
