Please Please dont shoot the messenger here. But we are adding the NeSmith Crate Late Models to our program on Saturday May 3rd.

Figured i would give everyone the heads up before you got to the track and said "where the hell did they come from"

Would it be safe to say that the management either:
a) Doesnt think the hosting a USAC Sprint race will fill the place or...
b) They need the money from another class at the back gate to cover the sanction fee

We picked up the NeSmith sanction due to Twin Cities dropping it...thats all I know. They need a full season of racing to have enough races in to make up their points schedule. So they are racing almost every weekend from here on out

I was planning on going to THAT May 2 and then on to Brownstown May 3.

Now I will go to THAT and then home.

I have never been to Brownstown and thought this would be a great time to see the place and get 2 races in two days.

Not now.

I feel the same about crate late models that you feel about IndyCar. You like what you like and you hate what you hate. IMO that's why the Little 500 is so fantastic - 2+ hours of non-wing sprints racing on a paved track. It's everything I like and nothing I don't.

For most shows 1 support class is expected, beyond that the natives get a little restless. This show, on their website, was scheduled as USAC Sprints and UMRA TQ midgets. An all open wheel show! I am sure that some are dissapointed that the 3rd class has been added. It also makes it more difficult to get the feature in early as has been intended by USAC. Lastly one of the reasons that the crowd is getting older and older at open wheel events is that the kids never get to meet the drivers and see the cars close up anymore. Waiting through 1 extra feature before being let into the pits is a possibility, waiting through 2 probably isnt.

AMEN. Agree 100%. Live down here in the south, where you have to set through 6 or 7 support classes just to see the headliner event, which is usually super late-models. You people have it so good up there and don't even realize it.
