There is a young fan that has his own flags and does an outstanding job, flagging from the stands at Lawrenceburg, usually is directly behind the official flagman. Does anybody know him or how to get a hold him or his family. Thanks

I talk with him and his dad regularly but don't know their names. Know they are from Holton Indiana. All I know.
Said many times he should be up in the stand with the flagman. Not because I have any problem with Burg's flagman but two sets of eyes are needed on that track. Flagman could spot 3/4 frontstretch and other 1-2 and backstretch.

Over the years I have noticed several of these young guys in the stands behind the flagman. Usually they are pretty good, kind of fancy motions and waving double flags. Have any of them ever become flagmen?

I remember back in the 90's or early 2000's there was a young boy who would stand beneath the flagman at Eldora and flag the races, he was so good that during an outlaw race that had to have him stand further up the grand stands because the drivers were keying in on him instead of the flagman.
That year or the following year he was given the treat of a life time when they allowed him to flag a heat race and for the first time in my life I saw a flagman drop the checkered as well as the yellow...........he was good! It would be interesting to know what happened to that young man. |
