How About 3 Words- Made In China

If the owners/drivers will run Chassis, Driveline and Suspension components that are made in China, then why not a 410 Engine? Do you think that maybe Shaver and the rest of the motor building industry has figured out that their product could be made for less by cheap overseas labor?

If so the good old big buck US Motor (Shaver, Wesmar, Gearte, Ott) will be displaced from that XXX Chassis and a new "made in China" product will take its place.

Could it happen? Why not ask somebody that runs a XXX Chassis or uses “made in China” components on their sprint car or midget?

Is it alright if the parts are made in Canada or Mexico? Those countries are at least attached to the United States.

Just guessing I would say that you are probably more of a semi-professional sh*t disturber than a dyed in the wool,flag waving American. That is just by judging the fact that your comment had no relationship to the topic,but hey I am all for a differing opinion. Maybe I am even reacting unreasonably, but here it goes.

So let me get this straight:All of your clothes,shoes,parts in the car you drive,electronic appliances,die cast race cars and dental hygene products are made in the good ol' U.S OF A? How about the computer you typed your response with. All American parts and assemblied completely in America?

Go check the window sticker of a Chevy AVEO. The car is assemblied in and made with 88% Korean parts.(Including engine and transmission) Another 8% Canadian. That leaves 4% American which I am assuming means what, the Chevy emblem package.

The parts companies that are waving the American flag and claiming their parts don't come off of a boat are using and selling bearings that came off of a large sea going vessel that most of us would confuse with a freighter. That is a fact.

I may be wrong about this, but aren't many of the M.S.D. Units manufactured or at least assemblied in Mexico?(Not that they were claiming American built)

I for one wish that it isn't this way it is. Outsourcing is destroying our tax base,economy and destroying the American middle class. It is also slowly creating white collar homelessness.

The bottom line is though, these companies are playing by the rules set forth by the American government. They are not breaking any laws and they are trying to give the consumer what they want; an affordable race car and affordable parts.

Before I get any B.S. about low quality parts, I have had every major brand of part in my shop and every popular brand of chassis except for J.E.I and I can tell you first hand that the XXX car construction is on par with all of them and the welds are far better than than a few of the leading companies. Those companies should be embarresed for sending people out in cars that are welded(or unwelded in some cases) like that.

For the record: I have never seen a bad DRC nor do I ever expect to.

As far as the parts go, I have sold Winters hubs and spindles and I have never seen one of them break. Even during a hard crash although I am sure one could break during a hard crash; like all brands.

Also for the record: I love my country and I am continually amazed I am fortunate enough to live in a place where we can race for entertainment and for a living. It may be broke in many ways, but there has never been another like it and it is still the best thing going.

Well, personally I don't think you will ever see one track or USAC
ever change thier rules to skinny tires. But most 360 assoications
make it mandatory to use a hare RR tire.

So my next question is this. What are your feelings for
a sealed engined larger in displacement than a 410 at half
the cost of a typical major mfg company putting out about
800 hp for 1/2 the price.

You can run you Ron Shaver motor for 40K at 410 cubic engines
or an equivalent HP but larger cubic inch engine that is sealed for
1/2 the price?

USAC has the DT3 as a spec tire on the right rear. Larger displacement? I say open the rules to whatever you bring what ever you burn, the owners will loose their ass at first but maybe, just maybe the word will get out that the engineering is back in racing at usac. MSCS rules? Anyone, anyone?
