Josh will have the #66j HalfMoon/Colescotts Mobile-1/ Bruce & Sandy Dalton sprint car at the Kokomo Shoe Carnival Saturday from noon to five p.m. to help raise money for the prevention of child abuse.

There will be all kinds of door prizes and a ton of cool cars so take a min. to stop out and say hi and at the same time put a little towards a good cause.

31 and Boulavard 12-5

A big thank you goes out to all the people that came out today to help Bill & Julie Brubaker raise a little money for the prevention of child abuse. The hours they put into this deal is hard to believe and the people that show up to help all deserve a big hand, they give us plenty of time to make plans to be there to help so planning is not that hard to do.

The crowd was down a little from the past but people dug deep to help, we put a few things off to help make this deal happen and as some people say karma is a good thing as a few more locals may be on board next season to help make Spencer Racing a little faster.

I think the highlight of the day was when an older gentelman said he had noticed Josh had picked things up this year, I for one am sick of people telling Josh what he should have done or how he should have done it. (J.M.O.)

Well anyway Josh told him that a good motor can make a bad driver look good and that we had paid a little more to have Claxton give us a few more horses, at that time the guy said that Josh was ready for the horsepower and had went about racing slow and easy with respect to his parents ,sponsors other drivers and the fans, the fan thing threw me as I wondered what the fans had to do with Josh racing clean and at his own pace (something Jon Stanbrough and Dave Darland had told Josh to do from the begining)
So me being the dummy I am ask what the fans had to do with it, I was then ask how many drivers Josh had run out of room just to make a pass, how many pi@#$% off drivers had been at our trailer everynight and then the big one that was right in front of our face, it is Saturday and you took the night off to help raise a little money for a few kids that can not help themselves.
As we were rapping things up he told Josh that had this been in his day Josh would have been alive, very popular and made enough money to be happy.

As he left we all just kinda looked at each other and wished we were in our eighties so we could have shared in this young man's wisdom.

To all our fans and to everybody that helped make today a sucsess thank you, to the little young (81) man that has seen life a few more years than we have and helped to pass some wisdom along THANK YOU.

We were taught today / or reminded that there is more to winning than taking the checkered flag.

See you Wed.
