It looks like Lucas Oil Raceway Park didn't waste any time in getting this up on Facebook:
The USAC Hall of Fame Classic has been cancelled.
This event was an outside promoted event, by USAC. The decision to cancel this event was by USAC, not Lucas Oil Raceway. All questions should be forwarded to USAC at 317.247.5151.

USAC if you really don't want the Silver Crown division just say so. This is an absolute slap in the face to the drivers, teams, and fans. The activities at IMS have no bearing on the RACING tonight. The Hall of Fame ceremony might have been impacted but not the racing. For a series that needs all of the help it can get, this isn't doing it any favors.
I'd like to thank USAC for saving me a ton of money. I won't be going to anything USAC related. I will be cancelling my plans and reservations for Indiana Sprint Week trip. If USAC is going screw over their fans. teams, drivers and Hall of Fame Inductees this way they most certainly will not be getting any of my support or money.
30+ year fan of USAC has finally had enough of it. I would ask the last person out to turn off the light but the light has been out for years in USAC.
What a farce. Thunderstorms in the area my ass. Radar was clear for a 350 radius around the track. Cut my grass at the house around 5pm, took quick shower and brought my boy over to watch the race last night. We (especially my son) very disappointed no race. No more USAC for us. It's a beautiful day today, we are going to go up to Winchester and watch a real race. Shame on you USAC.
Since when does the speedway go past six???? They never have before no matter what. How was USAC responsible for that? The fast nine thing is a bunch of BS and a slap in the face to almost 100 years of tradition. Remember, if it wasn't for USAC holding out for non-wings back in the day, you'd all get the "pleasure" of attending nothing but winged sprints.
