I copied and pasted my color comentary from the other thread to here. Adding that they have two cranes working and things are moving much more quickly

Had to meet up with dad this morning, Stopped by this afternoon.

WOW! Somebody lit a fire! The wall is 3/4ths done with only the entry to the track near the pit grandstand and the giant wall outside the restroom to be completed.

The light pole project is at a craw but the track has four ft of water in the center. They will have to pump it out. That being said, You could still race two wide in the straights and three wide in the corners . Think Bob was down there taking photos.

Won't be long, Three or four weeks is my guess. Maybe sooner, who knows.

The fish will be stocked tomorrow with a carp tournament this weekend. Seriously though, the work crews are crankin things up even more so now. Once the walls are done, say this week sometime, and the infield drys some the surface dirt will be hauled in from the pits to the track.

Actually seen a picture from the early sixtys of Dale Detmer and his brother both on the track at the same time. One in a boat, the other in a sprint car.

Daves right, They've cranked it up a ton. Took six weeks to get the wall from turn two to turn three, They've done from 3 down the front straight and all but about a 100 total ft from last thursday till now. They must of worked easter, its almost unfathomable how much they've gotten done in this short of time.

Chuck, yes theres a lot to do but two cranes set things very fast compared to a bobcat

After taking the pictures I sat in the stands for a few minutes tyring to figure out what other existing track is comparable to the new L'Burg. I have been to many tracks all over the US and can say......there is no other track like it.
I am anxious to see the final grade and the clay put down. I have the feeling that the steepness in the banking we see now will dissipate some what.

I am looking foreward to see the first race like everyone else but I totally agree with Dave in postponing opening until it is completed and everything is looking good.
A perfect comparison is opening a new restaurant before everything is ready and people leave with a bad taste in their mouth and the critics tear you up.

As for "Lake L'Burg" I spoke with one of the workers who said they will pump out the infield as soon as the river goes down a little more.
I was also told that the outer safety wall is scheduled for completion at the end of this week.

My final thought is that this new track will definitely be challenging to the drivers and crew chiefs but most of all a fun evening for the fans
