John talks about his return to racing, winning the 1990 Chili Bowl and possibly racing a winged sprint car at Selinsgrove Speedway this season.

The best interview I have heard in a long time. John goes back years in racing. Had I not known it was Johnny I would have sworn he was a 20 year old kid just getting into the sport. The excitement and love he has for racing comes through with every word. The young kids coming up now should be required to listen to this little talk. He has a way of saying what is wrong with todays young hot-shoes and not being harsh or judgmental. Just good honest straight from the heart TRUTH about how to become a true Journeyman racer

A must listen too interview

The best thing about interviewing John is that all you have to say is "Hello" and John goes from there. For years the HARF booth was right beside John's booth at the Circle Track Expo & easy to say John's booth was busy all day, not just for the great product he was selling, but for the pure joy of chatting with John. I will join with others in saying how great it will be to get John back in a racecar and so gratefull that his strong will (and some of our prayers) got him thru this difficult recovery, bob.

Racers like John are what is missing from the sport now days. John raced 1/4 midgets before roll cages were invented. He was brought up with respect for the race cars, race tracks, race officials, and his fellow racers. Kids take their safety for granted now. More dangerous getting to the track than the racing itself. Because of that we now watch a bunch of stupid stuff happening on the race track. This week in particular.

There is nothing more awe inspiring than watching a driver setting up his opponent and then executing a perfect pass. It would sure be great if John could take a few more kids and teach them the art of racing right.
