Since we are talking about indoor races, I attended an indoor race at the E. J. Nutter Center at Wright State University (Dayton, OH) on Jan. 15, 1995. I didn't write down any details of the event, but I remember that Mel Kenyon was competing and the weather was warm and rainy. Did anyone else on here attend that event? Did they ever have another one? I never saw another one advertised.

I went to one about that time but it was in Hara Arena, Not Nutter Center. I know Nutter hosted a Arena Cross last year but it was icy and I didn't go.

Kim and I attended an indoor event at Dayton during this time, but I cannot definitely say it was this one.

Ryan Newman drove both a midget and a quarter midget the day we attended.

That was the second running, I went to the first one on January 9, 1994. Sprint/Midget/Legends driver Kenny Rice was the Promoter of these events.

Cover from the inaugural event program.

The strangest part of this souvenir program is that all the drivers' home addresses and phone numbers are listed inside. Never seen a program like that before.

Keith, is that the one we went to see? Or was it later? I was thinking we saw one at O'Hare Arena.

I'll have to go through my programs; I'm pretty sure I bought one. I noticed that Jack Walker Pontiac sponsored the 1994 event. He apparently sponsored the 1995 event also, as I remember a collection of new Pontiacs on display. I remember liking the Bonnevilles of that year, but I was not in the market at that time. One thing I distinctly remember about that day was the persistent rain, which began as I was just outside Louisville towards Ohio. I bought a brand new 1995 Oldsmobile Aurora on Nov. 17, 1994 and that was the first time it had been driven in the rain. I still own and drive this car to most of the races. Has nearly 268,000 miles on it, runs and looks great and gets 25-27mpg on the highway.

No, at Columbus we froze outside. At Dayton, we were inside. But we didn't freeze.
