With the exception of 2 years since 1971, I've been sitting in the second and third rows from the top in the tower terrace in front of the pits (near the entrance). We are under the cover of the luxury boxes above and they are terrific seats. We get a panoramic view from turn 4 to deep down into turn 1. We get a great view of the start of the race, the finish and the goings on in the pits. I've been in Stand J (turn 4), NW vista, Stand H and Stand L (turn 3) and I prefer the seats higher up in the Tower Terrace. Seats anywhere around the speedway (except the Vistas) in the bottom third of the stands, are terrible. Also, I just noticed this last year on Pole Day, but the new Pagoda was built too close to the track and if you have seats near it on either side, the Pagoda blocks your view of the main straightaway on the other side of it. I was walking a long the pits last year and sat up there for a few minutes to watch something and noticed it. I sat north of the pagoda and couldn't see going down into turn 1 much past the finish line. Almost half of the straightaway was blocked! I feel sorry for those people because until they built that thing, those were "Primo" seats. Now they're junk.
BTW....Tower Terrace seats are $90 face value |

My seats are $90 each. They are located in the Paddock, Sec. 10, Row PP which is almost directly on the start/finish line. I have had them since 1968, when face value was $20. I have a great view of the opening ceremonies and the pits. I am about five rows from the top of the Paddock. If you get any higher you run into a problem with your view being obstructed by the press boxes.
Being under the cover is important to me. I simply could not tolerate being in the sun that long. I don't even go to daytime races at Winchester or Salem because of the sun factor.
