Quarter Midget gear help. New to this so at our regular track I-70 QMA everyone runs a 34 motor 27-31 axle, We are going to race the Turkey Gobbler in huntsville. I have talked to a couple of people there. The track looks similar but i have been told they run a 37 motor 27 axle and another said they run a 37motor 37 axle.
What happens to rpm when you go up with the motor gear?

don't sweat the gear, go have fun. The tracks are different, the weather is different, you will be racing against unfamiliar people etc. These are all good things because you will have to go outside of your normal setup, and that is how you learn and get better. That event is one of the most fun we ever attended. The people there were just awesome, eating Thanksgiving dinner at the racetrack was one of the most off the wall fun things we ever did. When we were there you got a full day of practice, I did something I had never done before, I ran full tank of gas through a honda trying to figure out a set up.(never did get it right). It didn't matter though we still had a great time, and my sons and I still occasionally talk about it. Start with your normal deal and work from there.
