By default over the past few years, I have become a Butler Motor Speedway man on Saturday Nights. It's the only place around with a weekly winged sprint show. So, Plymouth running Saturday Nights will be a clash with that, but I think running Saturdays will be the best for them, for they can possibly "split" with Gas City & Kokomo weekly and give the fans up North here another night of non-wing racing from time-to-time.

Ahhhh.... the joys of having to "choose" where to go on Saturdays, now....

Unfortunately, I don't feel that "joy" with the current tracks running traditional sprint cars on Saturday nights. Another choice isn't necessary and I guess only time will tell. In the region you already have Lincoln Park, Paragon, Lawrenceburg, Clay County and Waynesfield.

Add in a special event tracks like Tri State, Eldora and Terre Haute that also have non-wing sprint shows on Saturday nights and the pool is divided even more. In my opinion adding Plymouth will only delute both car counts and fans. I hope that I am wrong.

Big THANK YOU to all involved it was an amazing experience even in 30 degree weather!
THIS RIGHT HERE is how a group of crazy guys totally committed to making what they love to do work for them and get paid to do it.

It is ALL about the experience. Treating the ticket buying public like stars, being gracious to anyone who is there.

As goood as you and I may think we are at this, there are people out there who are better.

Track owner, Ed Kennedy, stated that all classes and rules will be posted by the end of this month. Happy Halloween.
I can tell you we won't be running sprints weekly. Specials yes, weekly no. How many specials, don't know. We will start with a bang however. Stayed tuned to website, FB, 4M, Maximum Dirt, and of course great IOW for further announcements and "debate".

I can see your point there, Mud, and it is a pretty good one. And from 30,000 feet above, I agree. I am just voicing as a fan from the northern end of the state as a ground dweller. Call me selfish, but yeah.... I'm in it for ME.

Now if Plymouth wanted to run sprints weekly, which they are not in a position to do right now, I'd say go to Fridays and run winged sprints. No one else around does that. But now we are trying to sell wings to Hoosiers, which at times, can have it's trying moments.

I'm just glad I have another option. The winged shows will be fine. It will be the non-wing shows that will be a tough sell. I don't wish Plymouth Speedway ANY bad luck. I just hope they can make it pay off on a weekly basis with whatever classes they decide to run (in between sprints shows and rain outs).

I certainly don't wish them any bad luck either. I can also see your point since most of the Saturday night traditional sprint car tracks are mid state or farther south.

I have said many times that we Indiana race fans are so spoiled with the amount of sprint car racing each and every week. Who knows, we might even head up to Plymouth and take in a show or two next year.

I hope that their venture to all dirt is a plus for them and that they see a return on their investment. It should be an interesting development.

so when the weekly car count is equal to or worse than the pavement count, how soon does the track switch back.....lol Sure hope this place does not turn into another special events only track in the next few years.

My opinion, take it for what its worth, is that Friday night would be a much better choice. I know the sprint car people are gonna say, "what about Gas City?". How much longer do you think Jack can hold out before selling the place to big business $$? Montpelier runs mods on saturdays. 600's already have two tracks competing for cars in the area on saturday nights......
