Vermilion County Speedway, Danville, Illinois has listed Sprint races on their new website. They will be Fridays -April 4, May 16, June 13, July 25, August 29, and September 5. Phil Richardson is the new promoter and the new website is www.vermilioncountyspeedway.us. Bill Nelson was last years promoter and did a bang up job of holding Sprint races. Hopefully they will be successful this season.

:thumbThat is great news. Does anyone know what they are going to pay? I am glad they are only going up against Morgan county a couple of times. Certainly would hate to see them spliting up the car counts. Hopefully all of us Illinois sprint car guys will support them both as long as they treat us well.

September 5 is the same night as USAC up the road in Joliet.

I do not think it will effect them very much in the past the USAC "Heavy Hitters" have not supported local tracks and the sprints that have ran Danville in the past most of which would drive by a USAC show to get to the track they were racing at

There are plenty enough cars to go around

so shane cottle's not a heavy hitter now. i beg to differ. I went the night he won last year, and it was so cool to see shane win in somethin other than a modified at danville coarse it was his first time in danville since like 03 when he showed up in a late model. so it was nice to see shane around the track again.:moon:

Cottle is this season seince he is going for points but odds are the Contos' team would not race Danville

that im sure of but there is a chance he would show you up monte and the 10e dont forget he is runnin that car when he doesnt have somethin else goin on with 4 cars

I like the April 4th date. It is a week before Gas City opens.
