This was another instance where the track safety crew did not know how to put out an alcohol fire and the driver suffered badly from it. Spraying chemical on an alcohol fire wont do a thing and it took a few of the sprint car drivers to run to there trailers and get water to finally put the fire out.

Praying for the Bloom family.

Saw this posted on www.racewiz.com

"Jeff Bloom has been transferred to Spectrum burn unit in Grand Rapids.
Hopefully he will recover soon.
Although not life threatening burns of any kind are painful.
Lets keep Jeff and his family in our thoughts and say a prayer if you will.

Jeff and/or Linda Bloom

Thoughts and prayers are with Jeff and his family.

I'm praying for you Jeff! This brings back bad memories of Wolfie at Kansas City. All racers hate fire more than anything!

Our prayers go out to the Bloom family. Jeff get well soon! This brings back bad memories of what happened to my little brother a few years back. Something needs to be done to get these Safety crews on-board with the hazards of Methanol!! Jeff my thoughts are with you.
