Is there any advantage/disadvantage to being at one end of the parade route or the other? Thanks.

Not an expert, but what I noticed last year is that it was better to be at the front of the parade route. I was towards the front last year and when the parade ended in our area, the crowd started to walk to thier cars. This was not a problem unless you had to cross the back end of the parade route. Thus, the people at the front of the parade wanted to go home, and the people at the back of the parade was still trying to watch the parade.

2 ways to look at it, at the start of the parade, you have to be there on time, but can leave earlier, and at the back of the parade, you can wander in when you want, but then you leave downtown in more traffic, and if you're wanting to get to a race track after the parade, time is important. just my 2 cents worth, bob.

The best place to sit is near the telivision area. If you are unable to sit there I would say sit at the begining. All of the bands will be playing at the television area and should be playing at the start of the parade. However, the bands do take periodic breaks from playing along the parade route. You are most likely to find these breaks happening later in the parade.
