I never heard him called anything but Sheldon... My brother had innumerous nicknames for Sheldon Jr.

I sent a message to Susan Kinser Hodges via Facebook, and she replied that Sheldon was referred to as Lil Abner by some in his early racing days, but he didn't really like it. She stated that he didn't really have a nickname as so many drivers do. So, you can draw your own conclusion about using a nickname. I don't remember ever seeing one on any of his race cars.

I remember Benny always called him the big fella!!!
