We had 74mph winds here in Evansville. A confirmed tornado hit Posey, Gibson and possibly northwest Vanderburgh County. An 83 year old woman and her 57 year old daughter were killed near Poseyville, IN when their mobile home was destroyed. I understand there will be video on the NBC national news this evening.
Only thing that happened at my home was my patio furniture was blown over and a few big sticks in my yard. No big deal.

Yes, confirmed tornado in Posey/Gibson County by the NWS. My entire town (Fort Branch) has been without power since yesterday. Over 75 lines snapped....

The good news is based on my drive-by Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt (Gibson County) suffered no damage from all appearances. However, pretty decent structural damage throughout Poseyville, Haubstadt & Fort Branch. My neighbor's roof was in my driveway this morning....

down here in Cincinnati, the wind blew over a 75ft BP sign and post. It landed right on the windshield area of a pickup truck and folded it in half. The owner of the truck and his fiance had just gotten out of it a couple minutes before the sign came down.

You have to admire Bill. He reminds me of the Energizer Bunny. The guy has been through one thing after another it seems and he keeps on going.

Tornados in the middle of winter too? That's not making it any easier to get my friends to move back there. I thought avalanches and 30' of snow blocking I-90 on Snoqualmie Pass was bad.

Glad you guys are OK.

It took me 35 minutes to get from the station to Family Video on Southway and then back home out on Old Sycamore. Usually would take 15 min tops. THis wind is crazy strong!!

Wish Bill the best in recovering from the damage.
I was going in as you were leaving, the trip to the Waste Water Treatment plant was a treat and I do not live that far away.
I am glad everybody made it ok, Bill I am glad no one was hurt.

The sky this morning (Thursday) has that look that it has when things are going to get ugly, hold on everybody and be careful. :respect:

Our street department is not very proactive....they wait till we call them before they come in and of course we are all macho cops that can drive better than anyone....so It is usually pretty bad before one of us will radio dispatch to tell them they waited long enough now get out here and go to work.

Its like they dont get the weather channel or something?
