First of all, I'd like to say this, DAD, you aren't funny, your involvement is not needed, or asked for, TQ racing has been around for a lot longer than Mini-sprint racing, and is a TOTALY different type of car, it's more old school, if you will, it takes someone with a mechanical ability, to think out of the box, and actually build a motor, and chassis, that meets the rules, and most of us take pride in being able to do that, you might call it a "constructors" form of racing, we enjoy being able to think out of the box, and to be able to build cars and motors, that comply with the rules. You evidently enjoy your form of racing also, so you leave us alone, and we will leave you alone, OK!

What is faster...a 600 or a TQ? And what is the huge issue with running with a 600 if youre in a TQ?

Chris, you aren't ignorant, so don't go there. As far as the speed difference between a TQ, and a 600 mini, I don't know either, and am not about to argue over it, the difference is all in the make up of the car, plain, and simple, you have 2 different types of cars, why would you want to run them "together"? Now, I have no problem running them on the same show, if you will, but not racing "against" each other, we have, in the past, raced on the same "card", and I think everyone was happy, or at least it gave the fans a full plate of racing. That's the way I see it, anyway, as long as they aren't on the track at the same time, I don't have a problem with it. Bob!

Bob how did you know I don't owne any black shoes. My cars are as odd as you can get. I never run what every body else does. My chassis is built by a young man that used to drive for me, his name Is AJ Felker he builds them the way we think will work best. I don't know about you but I can't see the crack to weld any more, I did however give him his first instructions in welding. My motors have always been out in left field when everybody else was running Honda's I was running a 600 Yamaha. When everybody switched to Yamaha's I went to Kawasaki's. I hate running with the crowd.

If I could find someone to split two of these old Kaw's take out the trans lay one down stand one straight up and tie them together with a timeing belt I would probably give Poweri Midgets a try.

Those old quick changes are so neat Bill May's MMSA has changed their rules to allow them this year. We are trying to get more like TQ's all the time. But you guys are stuck in the good old past. I understand the car AJ raced was 30 years old when he drove it. I guess that is a good thing but guy's like you even get down played when you try to do something different and good for the sport.

What I'm saying is sometimes change is bad and sometimes it is very good. The weight rule you were concerned about is a good thing but it has taken 50 years to be put to use. My car's work just like yours do . Some people are selling new cars that are not owner constructed, and some people are running cars that are 30 years old.

Three groups are great but sometime in the future car count is going to go down and there aren't a lot of people like you that can or wan't to build a race car from the ground up.

I just feel you guys are putting just a little too much importance in the drive train. Back in the 60's Ron Ambrose ran a chain drive in UMRA in fact too well they out lawed him, before that it might be chain drive or prop shaft drive. I think Al Davis ran several chain drive cars back in the 50's. At one time chain drive was OK in TQ's but thanks to Ron it was made Illegal. Does that really sound like a fair rule to you, just out law something if it out runs you. I think I would have to come up with something that would out run him and I know that is a very hard thing to do. I also know it is not all in the car or the motor or even the drive system. Sometimes it is just the man himself you got to beat and I don't think making something about his car illegal is a very cool way to out run him.

MMSA has changed it's rules to get larger car counts you guys want to run the status quo and try to keep car's out that might just upset the apple cart.

Bob when ever we are close to you, racing let me know. It would be my honor to have you there and to see how the other side lives. I would be glad to pay for your pit pass and maybe even a hot dog or two, I think we are probably a lot closer together on our racing than you might think.

It is hard for me to think that a young man with only a few races under his belt could be so down on another race car because of the way it drives the rear wheels, maybe we could get him a ride in one of these different cars that really does handle and run to change his outlook on racing. The older I get the less set in my ways I get.

Well if the 600 sprints prove too fast, then we handicap. When you do your job right you come up with a bunch of different winners for the season. I remember one old guy Henery Hall at little salem outlawed the midget right rears, that would sure slow them down, If that didn't do the job good enough start adding weight 20 lbs at a time. The thing that the promoter must take into account is the abbitities from one driver to another and not to get carried away. I have knda of kept up with the new TQ groupe and it looks to me like you have several cars that can and a bunch that cain't. If you are the guy winning the rules seem great to you but how does the back markers feel about the rules. Seems like maybe you need to tweak the weight rule a little more. There is a big difference between a 2 valve motor and a 4 valve motor weight should be different. A big difference between a 1995 four valve motor and a 2011 four valve motor change the weight. When you get done everybody will have a better time and the thing should grow. When it all comes down to the thing you can't change is driving ability and these people will rise to the top no matter what they weigh. The young guys comming in need to see this fact and find a more experienced guy to help them improve, and the older better drivers need to make themselves available to these younger guys. I think if all this hapened the chains would not look so bad anymore.
