this may be just an eye opener or maybe even funny but here's my question. what would the purse structure look like for a guy to break even at the end of the year. this is one night a week and your motor stays together all year and you are a top 5 car weekly (20 weeks). remeber this is just for fun don't bash......

Does this include paying the driver 40% to 50% or does it all go to the car? If it all goes to the car you just might break even. If the driver gets a cut, you won't, Unless it pays 3k, 2500, 2000, 1500, 1000 for the top 5 each race. Anything less,as 1500 or so , you have to win every feature.

Add in fresh RR for each feature if you run a Hoosier, pit passes, entry fee at some shows, fuel, bent axles, nerf bars and the like, if you don't run in the top five , you have no chance to break even. If you don't spend the money, no top 5.Vicious circle.

I don't see it being possible. Unless you have a high dollar sponsor.

everything included. just seeing what crazy numbers a promotor would have put out there for a team to break even.

Yes thats the Williamsgrove purse !!!!

Plus I think the Grove still pays a bonus...3600 if you win from the first three rows,,,4100 if you win from rows 4,5,or 6 and 4600 if you win from the 7th row back !!!!

There was an article in Late Model Illustrated a couple years ago that figured it cost the top dirt late model teams around $230 per lap to compete on any given night.
