Just curious what people's thoughts are on Jimmy Johnson's comments about Indy cars. If someone has not seen it I have included the link below to the ESPN story.

That was the exact same thing I posted as a comment to that story. But all the NASCAR fans insist that he means banked ovals.... even though he does NOT specifiy that in his comments

A little disappointed in everybody having an opinion about Indy cars and the vast majority have not watched a race this year.

Maybe Jimmy's trying to plug his form of racing in a round about way?

Not cool seeing Jimmie’s knee-jerk reaction to Sunday’s tragic accident on the Nightly News. One has to think that if this had been a NASCAR accident, Jimmie would be waiting for his PR people to approve the politically correct thing to say. Racing insiders don’t need to fuel the fire and give reporters, who know absolutely nothing about racing, sound bites.

I think they need to make changes to breakup the pack racing before they go back to another high banked oval. Theses cars are open wheel and very dangerous so close in a pack so until they fix that problem they really don't need to be racing on the banked ovals. I really hope the next gen car will help to keep the cars on the ground but as long as Indycars are open wheel getting air borne is bound to happen again its the nature of the beast. So I say fix it or don't risk another fatal accident.
