I remember last years patriot. Track was black slick, and the leaders ran two and three wide for the last 30 laps. It was a pretty good race. I think the best move would be to run a $2000 mod race Friday night with sprints paying $2000 as well. They would get a lot of bloomington cars. As for Saturday night IMO they shouldn't run sprints at all. It is the mods one big night of the year and the sprints would take some of their spotlight away.

Lloyd, you won't see a track take rubber or lock down that often. Most of the time its just black slick. I think alot of people are a bit confused about what rubber down actually means.

Since I've been going to races, I've seen 2 tracks take rubber or lock down, Bloomington once and a USAC sprint & midget double at Beaver Dam, WI, both times, the racing became single file, much faster times on stop watch, and at the end of the race the rear tires looked like pavement tires.

I've raced on a few tracks that took rubber in spots and you could definitely feel the car tighten up in the rubber. One was at North Vernon in 2001 and I remember me and Brandon Petty slide jobbing each other, that was fun! The other that comes to mind off hand was the 2008 version of the Putnamville Clash. I ran like 6th with a good running 360 motor,so it helped me for sure! Another fun race!
