Whoa, we will accept criticism, but we have to say something when the facts are so out of line. First of all the races ended before 10:30 not midnight as stated here. The ambulance crew signed out at 10:25 p.m., so the races were probably over at about 10:15. It would take at least 10 minutes for the EMT’s to make their way to the office, turn in their radio and sign out. The order of the program was Must See Racing (MSR) heat races, USAC heat races, MSR Last Chance Race, MSR 30-lap feature and USAC 50-lap feature. A select group of vintage cars were on the track after the MSR Last Change Race to allow the race teams time to prepare for their feature event. If my memory is correct we did do a short autograph session before the feature races, but no way did we have an hour and-a-half of down time with nothing on the track. If I have to choose between making some young kid happy with a prized autograph (and maybe a lifelong race fan) or getting someone home 15 minutes early, I will go with the kid every time. 22 cars answered the call for the MSR sprints last year and 14 for the USAC show.

I wouldn't worry about Dyno Don. He hates everything and only comes here to complain. He's been the butt of people's jokes for years around here, because of his propensity to complain. He doesn't like support classes. He gets pissed if he has to stay past 9:00. He doesn't like it if he pulls up to a track and sees motorcycles. Says he's been targeted by the Lawrenceburg police, who are conspiring with Rudisell to prevent him from drinking beer he didn't buy from the track. Etc., etc., etc.

I will be there for the Wing Sprints. It was a good show this spring. Maybe they can get the stock cars that completed the program last spring both classes were good racing.

I hope everyone attends the Salem race. The Must See Series will have a great group of cars. I also hope everyone will support the next USAC sprint car show at IRP (Lucas Oil Raceway). Regardless of the car count both series produce very good races. As a racer who has an ownership stake in a pavement sprint car I can tell all of you the ONLY thing that will help this form of the sport grow is your support. I understand this site allows many of you a voice and I think it is important for the fans to show their passion. That said, I can say with a great deal of confidence that the owners, drivers and sactioning bodies are doing all they can to help pavement sprint car racing grow. All that we ask is that the fans continue to support this style of racing, stay positive and come out to the races.

Thanks to all the fans. See you at a pavement sprint car race soon.

I am very glad you guys seen an excellent 14 car race last year. Yes I know car count does not equal good racing. The last 2 USAC sprint car races I was at had 16 and 17 cars. While the features were good (no complaints at all) the heats were nothing but follow the leader, no passes at all. They even ran a last chance race where all cars qualified. That race had 1 pass in it. Car counts have drastically fallen off, but yet ticket prices have not dropped any. Do I go pay 15-20 bucks to watch apavement race, or do I go support a short track and pay 10-15 bucks to see twice as many cars, where all of the races mean something? I for 1 love watching the sprints on asphault but something has to change. I have no problem at all supporting a Usac sprint show but I will not go out of my way to attend one anymore. To the person that said the best of the best are still showing up..... hard to say that when I see several of the "BEST" running on dirt the same night.

The problems here run deeper than just one show at one track.

Perhaps it is time to consider reining in this glut of classes and sub-classes. Every manner of entertainment from motorsports to county fair attendance has taken a massive nose dive this summer. It looks like next summer will be the same or worse. The ability of the public's entertainment budget to stretch to include all the niche racing classes has diminished.

Simplify and go back to square one. A Sprinter is so big and so heavy. A midget is smaller. A mini-sprint is a make-believe name to avoid calling something a midget. A Sprint car is a Sprint car whether on dirt or pavement and should run very similar gear regardless of the surface.

Sanctioning bodies need to climb out of the parts sellers' beds and go with the cheapest, most common, most universally used tires.

A few of the travelling series just need to fold as they are unsustainable and bankrupting their participants.

Some folks will find their rides obsoleted by all of this but the current situation needs to adapt to the current reality.

First off you do not know me from Adam. You do not know what I really think.What gives you the right to spew venom about me that is not true? Were you there when the LPD searched my car? And told me they were asked to do so by the track. On the July. '07 event, I was the talk of the track about my run in with LPD. The same thing happend in Sept.'09 at the Burg.

Yes I get upset about too many classes, because I am a Sprintcar fan. If I wanted to see Bomber, Street Stocks or Modifieds I can go 15 minutes from home and see them at The Speedrome for a lot less money than an USAC show costs,not to mention the travel cost.

As for as shows running late, football game is 3 hour,basketball game is 2 hours and a Hockey game is 2.5 hours. Why would anyone want to sit around for 5 or more hours to see maybe 45 minutes of what they came to see?

If more people stood up to promoters, you might just get less classes and shorter shows. And God forbid you might get home at a decent hour.
Me thinks you are one of those old farts that does not come to the track to see racing, but to sit around and BS with your cronies. The track is just a place for you to meet.

Point is, you called the man a liar, here on this forum. Which is a pretty serious charge. I merely pointed out to him that he should not worry about being harmed by anything you say here and that you have exactly ZERO credibility around this forum, because of the fact that 95% of the posts you've ever made here, were to complain about something. That, Dyno Don, is an undeniable fact. When you were a little boy, didn't your momma ever read "The Little Boy Who Cried Wolf" to you?

And BTW, not only do I probably go to a hell of a lot more races than you, when I do, you NEVER see me leaving when there are 5 or 10 laps left in the feature. When somebody, like me, who actually enjoys the races, complains about something, unlike you, people actually take me seriously.

hey dyno doo that is part of the enjoyment , have a few cold ones , bs about the races we've seen and the ones we missed . try sometime it might change your out look on life .
