What is going on with the track prep? How hard is it for usac to get together with the promoters and request the kind of track they want to run on.As a fan i like to see it hooked up,2 lanes.let the drivers and crew show thier talent. the way things are goin the fans are pissed, the drivers are pissed, the owners are pissed.Usac needs to get the people in place that are fans ,that know what the drivers and fans need to keep um commin back.usac is goin down hill fast..Im sorry if this offends anybody, but i care about our sport deeply. There is room for improvement.thanks Dean Buckley...nonwing fan forever...

Would love to see an analysis of starting position vs. finish of this weeks races. I know several have come from the back to get a top 5 or 10, but in just a casual observance I don't see much change over the 30 laps. The same seems to go with qualifying, track changes quickly therefore the last half lose a half a second or more.

Just my distant observation.

i, along with everyone else was extremely disappointed with the deplorable dry slick conditions at lawrenceburg. i've always used the burg's track prep as a poster child for a well prepped tacky track that shoots rooster tails all night long. where did that track prep crew go, did they fire them and hire hire tony stewart's eldora crew? come on lawrenceburg, you know how its done, what's the problem?

Well said. Most disappointing tonight, although the best sprint drivers in the country[IMO] made for some exiting racing. Overall-bad track surface, bad stands, bad lights, bad PA, bad cul-du sac restrooms. Certainly these race teams and their fans deserve better.

Better be careful what you say, a USAC guy was escorted off the property last night for saying the same thing!!

While there is some validity in what you say, as a guy who has been around this game for 50 years or so I would point out the following. Even though USAC has ventured into some promoting recently it still basically remains a sanctioning body not a track operator/promotor. The relationship between sanctioning body and track officials is and has always been a tricky one. The division of authority and manpower makes for a process in which dictating anything by the sanctioning group very difficult. In effect, I can bring my party to your house with your permission, but ultimately you have much to say in how it is conducted.

As you say there is always room for improvement, but overcoming the dynamics of the relationships makes them difficult, but not impossible.

As wet as the spring was i think it's been pretty dry in Indiana over the last couple weeks. No excuse though, everybody watches the weather and you have to plan accordingly.
