The

outlook for midget racing at the Grundy County Speedway was already looking great for the 2011 season with the new D'Arcy Automobiles STARS series and the changes they will bring. The outlook for weather is also good for this Saturday when the STARS group kicks in the door to their inaugural season at the 1/3 mile paved oval.
With a forcasted hi temp of 70 and only a 10% chance of rain in the am (that means 90% chance of NO rain) drivers like Isaac Chappel, Patrick Wilda, Brad Greenup, Tom Schnabel, Billy Hulbert and former champs Aaron Andruskevitch, Jimmy Anderson and Mario Marietta are all itching to begin their battle for the inaugural STARS Championship midget title.
Mike Anderson will try to defend his title in the STARS Classic Modified divsion against the likes of Tom Schnabel, Sam Shew, George and Eric Pershey and Mike Petrizzo. While the INEX Legends and the Mini Cup cars take to the track this Saturday as well.
This Saturday night is the "New Years Party" and Morris Community Night. The event is sponsored by First Community Bank of Morris/Minooka and Channahon.
Pit Gates open at 2pm. Grandstands open at 5pm with the first race at 6:30pm. Grundy County Speedway is located just one mile North of I-80 on Rt. 47 in Morris.
