I am sad to report that tonight's races have been canceled by overnight rain that has saturated the grounds at the speedway.

Don't go there, you are only torturing yourself. Mother Nature has spoken and it really doesn't matter how wet it is. Apparently it is too wet. They used the term "saturated".

Kokomo Speedway, like numerous others had to make a decision looking at a business model. The forecast isn't very promising for this evening and without some sun, wind and warm temperatures, isn't going to bring the owners, drivers and fans flocking into the speedway. We all want to go racing but you have to accept the obvious and inevitable. IT ISN'T GOING TO HAPPEN, PERIOD!

I believe they also said overnight rains.... which isn't exactly accurate

If you only live 10 minutes from the track, why were you on here the other day asking how wet it was? Shouldn't you know? I do know they have been out there all week pumping water. I would guess the track itself is OK, but the pits, parking lot, bathrooms are a mess.

The people ******** about this cancellation, or asking if it's really that wet, or second-guessing the decision at all are also the first people who'd be ******** about their cars getting stuck in the parking lot or the toilets not flushing if the O'Connors somehow made tonight happen.

The place is a mess, and it's not for lack of effort.

I work in lafayette and I'm always over there and I don't have much spare time so thats why I asked if anyone knew, all I asked was a question and all I wanted was a answer. There's no need to be a ass about it

Ten minutes away doesn't matter to mother nature. I live 10 minutes from Columbus, and in 2008 they recieved one HELL of alot more rain than we did. I would volunteer to help Kokomo if I were ten minutes away, that way I would completely and clearly understand when they cancelled. Thanks to all speedway owners, operators, etc. for trying and giving us a hell of show when you can. I love Sprints!

I knew there was not much chance after the downpour last night, I also know they worked very hard to get this thing in. Ask yourself what did I lose by Kokomo cancelling then ask the same question putting the track in the losing category? Not much you can do with all the rain we have had.
