I have been down here both years and just returned from the best meal I have had here. The Happy Chef Diner is right next to the movie theater on the main drag of Clewiston. You can't pull into their parking lot from the street however. You have to go around the side and in the back way.
Try the Italian food. I had thick, rich, excellent Tuscan bean soup and really good lasagna. The warm bread sticks with their signature homemade strawberry butter is a killer. The breakfast menu looks good also.

Were there any cars in the pits? Last year I went on Friday and was rained out also. There were maybe a dozen cars there and more in town that didn't come out. I believe they had low/mid 20s on Saturday night. The sand/dirt lane into the track can be a bit hazardous for heavy vehicles if there is a lot of rain.
