Yeah, but Dave doesn't have a history of driving like an ass that Kevin does. The few times Dave has made a mistake he's man enough to admit it and apologize. Little Swindel screws up and hides behind his daddy. How sad is that.

Amazing the short memory some folks have. There is a certain driver now in the NAPCAR ranks that is widely described as the best nonwing openwheel driver of modern times. He routinely punted other drivers on his way to such feats as winning the triple crown. I even have a video of him literally driving over the hoods of 3 different cars enroute to a win. During the interview after the races, you could barely hear him justify his actions over the boos. But he is the greatest, and he is not alone...
Not saying that Kevin is not "guilty as charged", but let's not have a double standard. One standard will do just fine. |

Why would the team send him back out with no brakes, to run around in the rear, take a chance on getting hurt, when points are not a factor(they could'nt pass or be passed in points)?? Maybe they were trying to get Sweet in the car for Manzy!! |

What you can't say DD around here if it might be negative? Oh brother.
Is anyone old enough to remember when DD first started? Probably not to many. I'm sure every driver has had a rough start or season. You guys just don't care for a winger to come in and do a decient job and his last name is Swindell so his daddy haters hate him as well.:loser: |

I find it ironic that Kevin Swindell receives so much space on Daron Clayton's message board.
Good thing our heroes from the 60's and 70's missed the multiple In-Car-Camera, DVR and message board era of motorsports. There would be fewer oltimer autograph sessions at our favorite events. |

I was there and I didn't hear any apologies. I reckon the USAC faithful chokes on their own medicine. |

I have refrained from commenting on this thread but feel it necessary to speak up.
I've know Kevin for many years, back in the WKA karting era; my sons and he raced the same races. We never competed directly with Kevin, he ran the champ kart classes and my sons only ran the karts in those days. Kevin was a competitor and won some races, he made some bonzaii moves and lost some races too. He was always polite and liked to play around with the other kids when they weren't on the track. His mother is one of the nicest ladies you will meet. She was always in a good mood and would speak first when you met her. Sammy was always quiet, I assumed he was being arrogant, but only because of his reputation; he never gave me any reason to believe he wasn't just shy. Kevins driving, in his final year of karting, had become pretty wild and aggressive. It looked to me like he had a tremendous amount of pressure on him in the kart, outside he was just another goofy teen hanging out with the boys. I would imagine he is under even more pressure today in USAC and whatever other cars he drives. I was never a Sammy fan, but don't carry that attitude over to Kevin. Sammy fighting Kevins fights for him? Well, I have 2 points about that. 1. If you are going to fight my one of my sons, you will have to come through me to get to them. 2. If one of my sons makes a bonehead move that causes you problems, you will be able to talk to him- only after I have my say with him. I try to hold my sons to a higher standard in racing and life, but sometimes they make mistakes too. Maybe these young guns need some compassion and understanding from the veterans. I know they need to learn respect for their fellow drivers, but sometimes the veterans need to meet them further than halfway. If you have a wild driver, take a few minutes before practice and talk to them, they may just not know what they are doing wrong. just my $.02 |
