13th annual Rumble in Fort Wayne
Friday, Dec. 31, 2010 and Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011 ● Memorial Coliseum Expo Center ● Fort Wayne, Ind.

SATURDAY RESULTS

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Dave Darland outdueled teammate Jon Stanbrough to win the 60-lap midget feature that capped the final night of the 13th annual “Rumble in Fort Wayne.”

Darland, 44, of Lincoln, Ind., took the lead with five laps to go with a bold inside move in turn three on the 1/6-mile indoor track at the Memorial Coliseum Expo Center. The cars made contact, with Stanbrough spinning. Darland then held off fast qualifier David Gough by 2 1/2 car lengths for his second Fort Wayne victory and his 10th top-three finish here.

Derek Bischak, Adam Wilsdon and Jim Anderson, who won Friday's feature, completed the top five.

Ryan Smith of Walnutport, Pa., won the accompanying winged outlaw modified midget feature, leading all 40 laps. Kris Knox of Ligonier, Ind., wrapped up a special four-race indoor-outdoor championship that included the two Rumbie in Fort Wayne features and two last summer at Miami County Speedway.

The bad thing about it was the annoucer told people to stand for the start of the winged midgets...

up - up - down - down - left - right - left - right - b - a - select - start

We start 14 to insure better racing. We could start 16, but we find you get far more crashes and delays that take cars out anyway. We usually have 40 to 44 cars going for those spots both nights. That is a key also..having two full shows.

Once a year I sit in the stands to remind myself why it's not for me! Between the standers and the kid who kicks the bench in front of him all night I just can't do it anymore!

I'm with all of you! It's BS when a few PART TIME RACE FANS Stand Up!! Then all the real race fans also have to, just to try to see something! Why don't they realize when everyone sits down then everyone can see!! DUH!!
