The contact was front drivers that couldn't control there car do to not having a wing. Are first race at brownstown had 20 winged mini-sprints not one caution. On 8-28 had 16 sign in and had 16 finish.
Exactly they couldn't control their cars. Therefore driving without the wings makes better drivers. When the wings are off you can really see who the better drivers are.

Still the top 3 in point in MMSA were 1 3 4. Most of the Mini sprint were built to run a wing, not with out. So if your a better driver as you state and get ran over buy a driver that can control his or her car thats good for the sport. Its MMSA "Winged Warrior Tour" not the
non-winged tour. Make all them non wing or all wing races switching causes problems.

There's just people Like you on here always downing the sport. If you were the one racing I'd understand but I haven't heard anyone that raced non wing complaining about it. When I raced mini sprints I couldn't wait for a non wing race to come up. If your using minis for a stepping stone which most drivers are you need non wing experience. It teaches you to drive the car, even I you wanna go the wing route in a sprint car you still need the experice, you actually have to use throttle control non wing also it's not just hold it to the floor and drive. I'm not dogging the wing either because they are fun to

Here is my .02 cents on the deal, seeing as I wasn't at Brownstown I really can't comment on the racing there, but at Logansport for the most part it was very clean. All 3 heat races went flag to flag, and there were only 3 yellows in the 30 lap A-main. Granted, alot of the racers at US24 had more experience non-wing than the racers at Brownstown, and the only serious incident was an experienced midget driver running over a mini sprint.

Looking at the results, the cars that are fast with the wing are fast without it too. Running non winged isn't going to change the results one bit. Personally I don't think racing non-winged is any harder or requires a better driver, it just requires a different style of driving.

Its better when they mix it up, even with many of the regulars absent the car count was good for a short notice rain date. A few cars that had attended hadnt seen a race track in years. A non wing race draws them out. Indiana is the home of non wing sprintcars, i dont think car counts will suffer. If anything it will draw more people out. Only one car was substantial damaged and they drivers involved know why. The rest were pretty normal, radius rods, axles... Limited non wing races diversifies the sport and makes it more attractive.

Also I want to thank Bill May for getting contengency sponsors, and his efforts.

Saturday night was our first time without a wing, and we had a great time, worth the long drive from Columbus Ohio. We would definitely be interested in more frequent non-winged races, maybe once a month next year. I don't think you can blame the lack of wings (or the track, it stayed in great shape all night) for the wrecks, just one of those nights. Between the uprights at US24 and the MMSA's 18, that's a pretty strong show of support, especially considering it was a re-schedule late in the year. We would also like to thank Bill for his efforts, and to Brownstown for having us back after the rainout.

Ok guys... my car was made for winged mini sprint. I never have driven a mini sprint without a wing before until saturday night which i finished second... its not that difficult yes it makes you think and work a little harder in the car rather than flat footing it all the way around the track!!! The cars that got tore up sat. night was because they pushed the car way to hard and made dumb moves.. i never saw anyone go to the hospital if your talking about the 18 car he went to the ambulance and all of that mess was his own fault and they would admit it... its racing and in my opinion it was much more fun and much more challenging and that is what this sport is all about!!! Were not here to make a living so why not give us a challenge and if we have more we can always improve!!! Racing is Racing with or without wings!! If you dont want to tear your car up keep it in the trailer bc sooner or later winged or non winged if your driving to win your going to mess up and wreck whether it be your fault or not!!

I'd have to say, that just about sums it up, no mystery here. Bob
