Probably the same response they received at Anderson.

By the way, do you have any connection to the Xtreme Sprint Series? Just wondered. I ask because you seem to have that Gurley mindset that says "let's put down USAC and make my series look better by doing it". |

hahahahahahahahahaha The big box sanctioning body is so far under the bed covers with the purple tire people, it would take the FBI to bring 'em out................
You people are dreaming of snowballs in July if you think there's going to be a change in the tire deal. The only teams that profit from the point fund, padded with tire deal money, are the zillionaire teams that can afford to travel all over the country. If ur not one of those elite teams, forget about seeing any tire deal point fund money. |

No I am a fan of all pavement sprint car racing. I enjoy USAC, Supers, and the winged stuff. It sadens me that we may not have much non-winged pavement in the near future if things dont change. Just offering my point of view on this thread. But I'm no car owner or driver just a fan like most on here.

I put 98% of the blame on the purple tire company. Someone should have seen this coming years ago and there's the other 2% of the blame. If the tire manuf. don't want to alter their compounds to last longer (which they could do) and lower the costs, then go elsewhere for the tires of the sanctioning body. ie: American Racer, Goodyear, etc There are other companies that could make our tires for us with a lot less greed IMO. Yes, they have the right to make as much profit as possible from us, This is the USA (last I checked) but not at the expense of killing series'. We have the right as a customer to look elsewhere for the products that we are consuming. They do not have a monopoly on this market! |

![]() I really love it when the sanctioning body justifies it's new tire deal by telling us that THE tire company is DONATING x-amount of OUR MONEY to the points fund and then turns around and pays said points fund money to the TOP TEN in points. Very few can chase the whole schedule, so those that can least afford to race get none of the so called benefits of said points fund. ![]() USUC sold them the market, so they DO have a Monopoly. ![]() |

A few of things.
1. Mr.Miller seems to jump into the fray in a situation like this one here. Strangely absent this time. 2. The Champ dirt car Hoosier tire twin fifties. If you can't beat American Racer in a straight 100 miles, make them twin fifties.Sells more tires, and gives team purple a chance to win. They were half right. Great to see them get their a$$ handed to them at DuQuoin. 3. We ran a combo car before.Changed front axle , bars and wheel offsets. It can be done. 4. Yes an owner has to do more then open the gate, but when the sanctioning body you HIRED to put on a show brings a weak product it isn't the promoters fault. If fans pay a high ticket price for a small field one year, they won't a second time. 5. Three years ago pavement was booming. Every 16 year old with a loaded daddy looked at it as a road to NASCRAP. With that gone now, so is non wing pavement racing. |

Ive thought this for a while, but with some rule changes, they could really make it somewhat possible to run a car on both dirt and pavement. If they would make a offset rule and make motors be on center, instead of a inch offset. Also set a minimum engine height rule, say 7 inches.. That is the lowest you can run a engine in most dirt cars. Right now they have engines down at 5 3/4 or 6 inches for pavement. They could also make a driveline length rule, and it could be maximum 41 inches, which is the longest of most dirt cars. Right now I think pavement cars are around 46 inches. Those three rules could really make the chances of running a car competitively on both dirt and pavement much better. Im sure there would be teams that still build a pavement only car, but It would not be a huge advantage like it is now. They definately need to make a rule to run right side tires all night also.. How cool would it be to see races at ORP like they were back on thunder, see Paul Hazens 57 running on pavement with dirt still on it from Gas City the night before lol... I know it wont ever happen, but it would be cool..

you hit it on the head cshuman. a few simple, logical rules like that would save the series.beast wouldn't like it but he could still build legal pavement cars. usac should do the same for midgets. its all about measurements, easy to enforce!
