Todays race at the Springfield mile is cancelled! Just got the call. sucks!

Nothing on the USAC website, nothing on the Track Enterprises website.
People are driving right now, several hours, if they have in fact
cancelled this now almost 30 minutes ago, why don't they post something?

USAC site shows it cancelled

I just got a hold of someone in the State Fair ticket office and they confirmed, no race today. She said they are working on a rain date that will be posted later. Man, what a buzzkill.

Thanks - they must have just put it up, well... That's the way it goes, turning around and heading home - bummer

Here's a thought. How about Oct 2 as a makeup. Silver Crown at Springfield during the day and midgets at Granite City that night. A guy can dream, can't he?

I am sitting at Jungle Jim's for breakfast . The track was wayyyy too wet. If the weather doesn't cooperate the ARCA show is in trouble for tomorrow. After breakfast , off to the Burg.

Already in Springfield, guess we'll hit the Fair before heading south for the winged and non wing micro sprint races tonight at Wayne City.

SPRINGFIELD's "TONY BETTENHAUSEN 100" POSTPONED

Springfield, IL........Saturday's "Tony Bettenhausen 100" USAC Silver Crown Championship race at the Illinois State Fairgrounds has been postponed due to extremely wet grounds and race track. Heavy rains overnight created conditions not conducive to racing at the one-mile dirt oval. Officials of Track Enterprises and USAC are working to secure a replacement date for the event later in the year. An announcement will be made regarding a new date when firm.
