Another really good night of racing at the Gasser this evening. With all of the heat and humidity this week, the Gas City track crew deserves much of the credit. Again, they didn't have to rework the track and it was very racey.

Cottle wins from 13th place, Petty in second from 8th, Grant in fourth from 16th and Darland in fifth from 11th if our scorecard is correct. The high groove tonight was working well as they were attacking the cushion.

I was a little surprised with Bloomington cancelling last night that some of the regulars there might show up. Instead, no one ventured north this evening and the 25 car field was made up of Gas City regulars for the most part.

Even the modified feature was good. The top three cars put on quite a show for the fans who stayed. Also a nice crowd on hand and with a slight breeze it wasn't uncomfortable in the stands. Overall, quite a lovely evening for racing.

Be nice to people on the way up. You might need them on the way down. Jimmy Durante

Nope Sr shaking it down. Chuck was a pavement specialist so he was a bit timid out there. Nice run by Caleb Armstrong tonight. Grant passed him for 3rd but he slowed down and hit his marks better on the bottom and passed Grant back then held him off for 3rd. Smart race for him, sometimes you have to go slower to be faster :2: BTW Darland had followed Shane up to 4th or 5th before going over the edge and losing 5 or 6 spots. So he ended up passing a bunch of cars tonight. Best surface I've seen there in quite awhile.

Started last and finished tenth, not bad as we were 16th with 8 to go. The good news is we may have picked up a sponsor that is not afraid to spend a little money. once again the sprint car fans prove that they are the best and most loyal fans around.

Went to Gas City on the spur of the moment, left Aurora about 4:00. I also thought there may be a few other cars there with Bloomington not running. Where were Stanbrough, Windom, Riggs, and some of these guys. I realize it would be a longer tow for some of the guys but sure thought there would be more than 25 cars. HOWEVER, the cars that were there put on a very good show. Glad I made the trip. Bob Bressert

traditionally few drivers from Bloomington or GC have travelled to the other track when the other isnt racing. Stanbrough is a special case. Either they stayed out west to follow TNT or they are still repairing the car after the crash at Osky.
