We all have so much to be thankful for. We read daily on this board about those young and old who are experiencing serious health problems. I work daily with those who are homeless and away from their families during the holidays. At this time of Thanksgiving we need to bond together and pray for those who are less fortunate than us. But for the grace of God that could be us. Savor each precious moment with your family and give thanks that you have been so blessed. May each and every one of you enjoy the bounty that God provides for us and use it to enrich the lives of your loved ones and those not so fortunate. May all of you have a blessed holiday season.

At holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas, which have such strong "family and friends" connotations, I think about those who are serving in our nation's military branches. Thanksgiving in particular reminds me of the great good luck I had while in the USAF for 4 years.
I served during the early years of the Vietnam war and was fortunate to not go there. You know, one of those "but for the grace of God" things. I am quite thankful for that. I spent those four Thanksgivings away from family and friends, but one in Michigan, one in Texas, and two in France beat the heck out spending any holiday in 'Nam.
Do not forget to include our military folks in your holiday thoughts and prayers.

As FDR said in a state of the union address...I am thankful for the four freedoms that all come with a price.

The Freedom From Fear which allows me to sleep at night knowing that Uncle Sam's finest are taking care of business around the globe. :respect:

The Freedom of Speech which allows me to rant on IOW. :shout

The Freedom from Want which will allow me to expand my waistline in a few hours.

The Freedom of Religion which allows me to pray for the safety for all involved tonight at the annual Turkey Night Grand Prix.
