Thanks for the updates. I have since been able to get in touch with the No. 199 team manager, interviewed him and used Mr. Jordon's stats to compile the following team story. http://retr.racingeclipse.com/News.asp?id=472

Thanks for the fun and assistance. Have a good night.

:applaud: Did you just wake up? Did you come up with that all by yourself?

Welcome to the party...too bad it was over last year. People have been bashing the SC cars the last few years with the same OLD stuff.

By the way

***? Lesser? I thought Coons in a SC car had the fastest time? If I'm not mistaken this is the first time this has happened. Maybe, these guys are getting a better feel for the new car?

Again, did you just wake up to from a coma? Does the PRA exist? Especially if the rumors are true of the 2 J's (or 1 J) going back to USAC?

Again, the cars are their second year of life. Taking into account limited track time along with the weight of these cars, I find it impressive that for the first time 1 car was faster than the fastest midget. It shows me that progress is being made by the people working on the cars.

I do think a few eyebrows were raised with 21 cars on the track. I have no idea how good the racing was, but wasn't expecting 21 cars.

I don't think Petey was referring to driving.

let me clarify that a little. all midgets would have qualified between 2nd and 17th if they had qualified them for the the silver crown race. further to that, at Iowa and ORP the fastest midget drivers were faster than many silver crown cars. the numbers don't lie.

also the field spread was lesser. all midgets qualified between the 1st and 17th place times of the silver crown cars. that is a field spread of 1.639s/8.104mph (ie the gap between fastest and slowest). with the buttmobiles that gap is 2.204s/10.745mph
So I say, in conclusion, what's your point? Who cares what car division was faster? All that matters is who was fastest in your chosen division. If it is purely a speed issue, then NHRA top fuel at 330 mph is the only thing that matters. If speed was the only thing that matters then why race indoors or on small tracks? They are slower than hell there. It's about competition. Some people get very excited about horse racing. I'm guessing a horse is maybe galloping at best 25 mph.

Let's put both divisions at a 1.5 mile cookie cutter track and we'll se who is faster. I think SC at Homestead is about 175 MPH. What would a midget do there?

It's about competition and how fast you can possibly go, whether it's 40MPH or 330 MPH.
