MSCS RAIN DATE ANNOUNCED

DOUBLE THE EXCITEMENT ON MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND

Haubstadt, IN - May 4, 2010. A rain date for the Hoosier Tire Midwest Sprint Car Series program which was rained out on May 1st at Lawrenceburg Speedway has now been determined. The new date for the MSCS Sprints to appear at Lawrenceburg will be Saturday night May 29th.

That is the night before another MSCS sanctioned race which was already scheduled to be held at the Tri-State Speedway. Now MSCS sprint car drivers will be able to race on two consecutive nights over Memorial Day Weekend. Race fans and participants can look forward to a traditional racing holiday offering twice the excitement.

The combination of a $2,000 to win purse at the Lawrenceburg Speedway Saturday and the $3,000 to win purse at Tri-State Speedway Sunday night creates an inviting $5,000 opportunity for MSCS drivers. The tracks are about 200 miles apart. MSCS sanctioned events do offer $100 in tow money for drivers on teams not making the feature which helps offset travel expenses.

Also the same date as The Little 500. Why schedule against so much competition?

It's actually probably less of a conflict than the original date. May 1st, it was going head-to-head with a USAC Sprint dirt race @ LPS. Here, it's going up against two pavement races. And while it will lose some drivers to those two events, the loss wouldn't be as big as going up against a big dirt race. This date has traditionally been when The Burg has it's KISS race. And that's always done alright. More often than not, it's been my choice for the last Saturday in May.
