Just a note of thanks to all who cancelled early giving us a chance to make other plans. We all know it's tough these days to make a buck and this is how most of you make your living so we understand your desire to wait as long as posible in order that you might get a race in and make a few dollars. Again many thanks and hopefully NEXT weekend will be a great one weather wise.

I totally agree. While I know promoters hate to have to cancel, teams and fans hate to have to spend the time and money to travel to a race which is canceled at the last moment. When the weather is questionable, I'm a lot more likely to go to a track which has done a good job of canceling early in the past than one which waits until the last moment. I would think it would make promoters money in the long run, especially with the good will it engenders in us.

I totally dis-agree you should never cancel a race at noon because "chance of rain".Now if has rained or is raining that's a different story.Tracks that wait to the last minute to cancel get 5 or more races in a year then tracks that cancel on "chance of rain".I don't know how many times last year I got calls when I was at the track and the caller was saying it SHOULD BE raining there, the radar shows a red blob.

On this subject we have disagreement among people who's opinions I respect. That just illustrates how hard it is for a promoter to make the "right" call.

I guess you can say "Thanks for nothing"......I give thanks that I did not promote a race today...I floated the idea..Glad I didn't pull the trigger...I gotta kick the habit..
