Phil has promoted the track before and did a decent job but my vote would always be for Bill by himself ok maybe with his woman but not anyone else.

That was a mis-quote by our local paper. Phil was not granted anything. He was there to find out if he could get a permit in case he runs the track next year. The fair board should be letting me know in about a week.

Bill, is there anyway we can help support you? You went out on a limb for the sprinters this year to bring sprint car racing back to that area. Are there fair board members we can contact to encourange them to keep you as the promoter?

I am sure many racers and fans who attended the sprint car races at Vermilion Co Speedway this year would agree. We would like you to continue the great job you are doing.

I know this is all a part of what they call the "silly season", but Bill, I live in Central Illinois, and am considering putting together a looooow-dollar sprint car with a bunch of "over-the-hill" guys to run primarily at the Danville shows. Danville is about a 1.5 hr tow for us which we can handle, but the 3.5 hrs. to Paragon is a sprint car team killer for us. So, please, keep us up to date on any and all news regarding next season's plans for the speedway. Thank you!

Al, The fair board will meet on Monday Night Nov. 12th. I will have a answer for everyone after the meeting. Joe the fair board president is Herbie Hadden his # is 217-474-4462. If I am not the promoter next year, hopefully the new one will keep the sprinters for 2008 cause they put on some great shows. Thanks for all the support guys.

:headbang:

As one of the competitors who supported all of Bills shows this past season, this idea of a random fair board president who may or may not know anything about sprint car racing having control over this decision scares me. While acknowledging there are still things to be improved with Bill and his crew running sprint car shows, the idea of him not getting to continue trying to bring back the good old days of non wing sprint car racing scares the U know what out of me. I would certainly suggest all of you fans and racers pick up the phone and lets all give ol Herbie a call. Bill deserves our support for all the support he gave us this year. I am personally really looking forward to running even more at VCS next year.:pissonwings:
