MRA = Mutual Racing Association?
It was a little before my time here in Anderson, but yes the Mutual Racing Association did sanction racing here at Sun Valley Speedway. The Little 500 was one of the races for sure that they sponsored.
Not quite sure how it got the name Sun Valley but I have some thoughts on this. The speedway sits down in a valley and there used to be a number of General Motors plants to the west of the speedway. As the sun used to set in the West, the sun kind of set between the buildings right down on the speedway.
There is also a short street that extends from Madison Avenue east of the speedway that is named Sun Valley Drive.
A better person to ask about this is Checker'd Past here on the board. He is one of only two people to have ever seen all of the Little 500's. He has forgotten more about Sun Valley/Anderson Speedway than I will ever know.

I will see if he might have some answers to this question.
