Does anyone know what ever happened to the pavement sprint cars that Kalitta drove back in the mid '90's? I believe they were built by Streicher.

I believe it's now owned by Ron Koehler. He drives in the HOSS winged sprint series. It is a Hawk chassis.

I think that 1 of them went to a guy in Ohio. But I cannot for the life of me remember his name at the moment, sorry.

I think Dave Durnwald-car owner for Jimmy McCune may be the guy from Ohio that Mr Happy is thinking of

 Yep! :checkered:

and I'll trust that young Mr. Hettinger knows what he's referring to here. Don may have built the 1st car, but I'm pretty sure that Mike built the others.

I am pretty sure that Don Schilling was building the midgets that were driven by Doug but I seem to remember the sprint cars to be production cars. Those midgets built by Don were some really fast cars in their day.

I'm pretty sure that Streicher was building both the midgets and the sprints, with influance from Don. I'm sure my dad would remember better. I knew that Durnwalds, driven by Jimmy McCune, was a hawk but I wasn't sure if it was one of the original Kalitta cars. I thought I heard it advertised as a kitty-hawk. I figured there were maybe others out there, as I would be surprised if you could run 2 or more years and win a USAC championship with one car. I thought Koehlers cars were a Dowker and a Dynamite. Maybe he has the Kalitta car sitting somewhere. I'll check with him. Thanks for the help.
