I think track promoters are kind of like farmers. They all say they are broke, but have a wad of money in their overalls and their land is not up for sale.

If race track pomoting was a big money losing project, why would there be so many race tracks?

I do think that some of the greedy promoters have hurt their self by their own self greed and are not as profitable as they could be.
Just when I thought that I had heard it all, here comes old Dyno Don. WOW! Unfreaking believable.

I am not looking for any pity. I wish we only worked 4 or 5 days a week. I do what i do because of the love of the sport. I am not getting rich, I have less now than i did when i started this deal, i live in the same ole 1000 square foot house, the only thing i have bought for myself since taking over the track is a new pace truck which the lease is up next month. I am paying my bills and getting by, thats all i ask for in life. As long as i can continue to keep doing what i love to do i will continue to do so. I sure hope that someday i'll pad my pockets full of money then i won't have to make snow all winter long working 90 hours a week in the cold. Dyno Don this is for you...
Thanks, Dave Rudisell

For one you people need to leave Dave the hell alone and I put money after is five year contract is up that he is going to the track for five more years. he is one of the best promotors I have ever seen when anything happens on the track he is right there I have never seen the last promotor off of his quad at least Dave is not afraid to get off the quad. and for you people who are supporting Dave thank you if you people think that you can do any better at promoting the track then why dont you go down there and help him work on it. Dave you keep up the great work and for the people who dont know what a good promotor is then they can kiss see ya next year Dave and cant wait to see the new schdule

one thing people are quick to forget, the burg is new, and after 2 seasons of racing, it still looks new. That takes alot of work. I bet if Dave got on here and listed everything he has had to fix since last year, well no one would beleive him. kids and fans are constantly tearing stuff up. i like what i see at the burg, hope idiots like Don don't run Dave out of town.

How ironic that you use a picture from Manzy as your avatar. I guess the promoter got tired of counting all of his easy money. Apparently that land WAS "up for sale".
Manzy did not close because they were not making money.

They closed because a construction company made them an offer they could not refuse. The land was more valuable to a construction company than it was as a race track.

I was there in Feb. and there was not one rumor about closing. And you know how rumors fly at tracks. A month later the deal was announced and another month they ran their last race.

I will nominate this as the most rediculous post of the year! Dave is the man and everyone knows it who knows him or has been to Lawrenceburg lately. Its sad we have to respond to such a dumb post by ole Dyno!
